So, it's finally ready and arriving next week! official release date December 21st! I'm obsessive compulsive about recording, and alot of the music i record doesn't fit into what i do in EYES/MIJA/CHICA X/SECRETS (projects i'm involved with) so, i decided to start releasing "solo" albums. Collaborations and musical exploration with friends and peers is a necessity with me, of course i'm not the only one playing everything....but, these albums are diving very deep into my psychy. I could break down each song, but to you give you a full explanation of what the albums will sound like, the definitions will reside only in individual critiques...I will be releasing a new album monthly throughout 2011. These are not just "musical pissings" alot of these tracks i've spent up to years toying with, without a proper outlet to reveal, or waste the time of the listener. Confidence has finally set in, and i'm ready to divulge this mathematical entree'. this interview is just completely absurd. Let me paint a picture for you...It's 1999, youre obsessed with Vermiform records, you're 17...and think youve got it all figured out, after all your efforts of trying to jade yourself and look cool..you find youre just jaded.

my cousin Johnny Cluney took this pic(and spelled Xiola's name wrong) this is from a xeroxed picture zine he did. in early 2000's.  yep, baby Chica X right there. and Johnny is now the drummer singer for Mondo Drag!

Remember IGNITE THE WILL, well the bassist did this skate zine a lonnnnnng time ago! this is the cover i designed for it.

Me and Amber did a zine called "OH LORD....", we recieved ALOT of hatemail, got a decent amount of recognition. It read like COMETBUS mixed with a Vermiform records add and some speckles of a Charles Bronson song.

armchair revolution was my cousin johnnys zine. it was good, creative, positive, and visually groundbreaking. he was very anal with his art, making it come off very clean for us spending countless hours at kinko's, i chose a different approach, cluttered, sloppy. controled chaos. which is still the same theory i work with.

Wolfmagic is a 2 guitar and drums noise/pop trio! Ikey Owens of FREE MORAL AGENTS and the mars volta turned me onto them originally.(as he has with quite a few bands) but A.this kats are from the Midwest and B.these fools RIP!!   here is a poster for there album out on February 8th 2011! on NITCO! of course. as the new year comes in i'll post the rest of the art for the album, which im rather proud of!!(p.s. Ikey produced this record, one of many things coming out  on nitco with his name attached!)

XMESS FEST 3!

This is the 3rd annual year of XMESS fest Jason Whitmarsh(aka Nitco solo artist SINJOTHRAWMASH) and to a small extent, I, have put together this fest to gain canned good's for those less unfortunate...the 2 prior years Whit donated whatever money was made, to MIXTAPES! a very very poor, independent record store and venue...that is now defunct. This year the money is going to a city funded place. yep. the rich get richer and the poor die. COME ON DOWN and fake smiling with me!

Scotch Tapes Logo!

Scotch Tapes is one of the best noise/experimenatal lables that is persistent in putting out challenging music over the past couple of years, he will be releasing a few EYES cass. and lathes pretty soon, i was given the oppurtunity to do a logo for him. and, after giving him a handfull of choices, he chose the one the one that also stuck out to me!!

Old Art...

Before i photoshopped, I copy and pasted, and used rub-off letters, xeroxography! this is a few things i did in the early 2000's, ill post more of this stuff as i find it. found this stuff in a nasty mess in my basement. I really miss how organic i used to be.(and my infatuation with Sam McPheeters and Neil Burke is way too obvious here)

the WHITE RABBIT

The White Rabbit is a delightful art/crafts store in Iowa City run by our good friends Cortnie Widen and Luke Tweedy. Theyre fluint in good music and art, refraining from hipster notions but satisfying the needs of those that feel they need to represent them qualities. Simply fueled by good people making good art. This month they gave me the oppurtunity to let me display a bunch of my original art and prints, ranging from original pieces of the many, many Nitetrotter designs ive done, to album cover orginals, to large canvas pieces, and finally a few new collaboration pieces i've done with Jon Olson of Wolf Eyes and Cedric Bixler of the Mars Volta. I'm very proud of this work, and if you're around that area and wanna see or buy some cool stuff you should check it out!!

FAKE SNAKE

fake snake is the alias for Arizona's noise monger, Melted Cassettes...he will be releasing a digital E.P. on Nitetrotter/Nitco and a limited Cass. version will be available thru Nitco. another release you better jump on before theyre gone. He asked me to put together the art for the project, he assumed i'd be drawing it...but i felt a slick Graphic design for a noise project was definitely in need for this...here's your preview. and GOODNIGHT!

Phil Ross worked his ass off to get this guitar virtuosoe release out by Gary Lucas(played with Zappa,Beefheart, plenty of others) i designed a little flyer for him upon his request to go in this 7"...if you are a fan, i'd track it down before its out of print!
