SECRETS

Me and my wife Amber have been working on a project called 'SECRETS' for about a year and a half now. We're about to play our first show and will have a cd/digi release available soon through our label SEED records in the U.K. and Nitco Rec. in the U.S.

SECRETS is a genre of music coined by the late great Billman Harris called "Chill Wave". The music is very relaxed, electronic and catchy, some tracks resemble lullabys, others reminisce beats of Dan the Automator, or P.M. Dawn.

Our album cover is a picture taken by Cedric Bixler-Zavala(the mars volta/de facto/orl group etc.) that amber picked out. dig it!

MIJA's debut cd Jeminism I is finally out also!! Sonny Kay.com did the artwork best known for his work with The Mars Volta,Omar Rodriguez Lopez Productions, RX bandits, Zechs Marquise, Nocando, the list goes on and on and on. Highly insperational and all around swell person. and as of right now, he's working on our 2nd album, the contiuation to Jems I, Jeminism II, recorded by the keyboardist of the Mars Volta Isaih "Ikey" Owens. Out on Vinly 2012!

EYES-East Moline and Rejects

 this top one is the REAL DEAL, the rest are just prelims...

EYES(a project of mine) is releasing a digital relase on the label Vicious Pop. VP is a wonderful label with a label head that is in a amazing band called Big Fun 4Ever. I love his music as much as his releases, not one flop in my book. He works with JUICEBOXXX, Titsworth, and of course BF4E. Well we've been trying to get a release out on Vicious Pop for quite a while. We discussed it a few years ago. But we could never quite work it out...Well, i finally got what i feel a good list of tracks to be released as our 2nd Album that is cleverly made up of tracks from split cassettes/cd's etc., comp. tracks. remixes done for us, and remixes we've done for others such as(Franz Ferdinand,NightWounds,Aids Wolf, Mute Era, others..)ALSO the unreleased track that EYES and Dr.Eugene Chadbourne collaborated on. All these tracks were made during the era of the band when Amber played saxaphone with us, and we had backtrax...so yes, this is a dancy collection as opposed to our new stripped down thrash ensemble. So, here is the actual cover along witha few rejected ones for boring measure.

5nakefork releases.

 The MIJA cass. was designed by John Olson(of wolf eyes/american tapes) and font by Sonny Kay, but its my band, so i posted it. makes ya mouth water!

As of late i recieved in the mail a package full of cass. from my awesome brother out in Wichita, Ks. 5nakefork records! most of which i did the art for. 5nakefork makes unbelievably gnarly lookin cass. with good jams on them to boot! there is also a picture of a new Nitco. cass. by Living Ghost(more on this band soon)

random posters and flyers

This is what happens when i get to far behind in my blog, and only work...ill let your eyes take a break from reading, and just look. all these pieces have a story, but ill spare you this time...ill touch back down in the future on some of em, but most are self explanatory, like the flyers, and nitco adds,nitetrotter pieces, posters(however the mija flyers were product of Sonny Kay, i just added text to them, so that credit goes to him) any questions on anything please write me at nailinthecoffinrecords@hotmail.com, and im always available for work on album covers,posters,cassettes etc. if you need anything like that done let me know my rates are quite cheap. i like what i do.

SPREADERS-BLAUNT

Spreaders is a great noise/dancey outfit from the New York region, i was recently asked to do the art for his upcoming 12" which will also be co released with NITCO! the arts done and im ready to show it off.

CHICA X tshirt design and rando pic

my daughter CHICA X, is creepin on the comeup once again, we are gearing up for her first U.S. tour!!! from illinois to L.a. and back. so were gettin ready for it, promo pix, tshirts, new releases etc... here is a promo pic, and a tour shirt, the shirt design is a collab piece between me and Brian Blomerth(Narwahlz of sound) who will also be doing her full lengths art!

ALSO she has a new digisingle and cass. coming out on HEWHOCORRUPTS inc. Brian and i also collaborated on these, here they are! out in March/April, she will be performing with her new back up band(heart shaped hate) at these shows. too cool!

CHASE FRANK

Chase is a badass singer with her own band, i've just picked her up for NITCO(more info on that site) however, her music is wonderful, a blend of the B-52's and P.M.Dawn! yes, amazing stuff.here's some art i did for her limited ed.SxSW cd, they will be free if youre there lookin for the handouts, this is a handout that will be sure to get stuck in your cd player, my copy did!

NIGHTOSAUR

Max Clark used to be in UNICORN BASEMENT(a awesome group of music and peeps) i designed his new bands album art, theyre called NIGHTOSAUR and when i asked what they wanted to refference me as far as art, they said Guitars and dinosaurs, sheesh!
